JOBS / VOLUNTARY POSITIONS

Lala Books is a small bookshop with a small team, and positions don't come up very often. We currently have no positions available and due to the volume we receive, we unfortunately can no longer keep speculative CVs on file.

When we have vacancies, we typically post it on our Instagram page. In general, we look for people who are community minded, are passionate about books, and (importantly) have very strong specialty barista experience. We do not offer voluntary or intern positions as we believe everyone should be paid fairly for their work.


EVENT PITCHES

We're happy to read detailed pitches at hello@lalabooks.london. Please note we are lucky to receive more event pitches than we can possibly put on, and in general finalise our events calendar a minimum of three months in advance. For non-book related events, please see our private hire page.

Before pitching your event, we ask that you check out our What's On page to see if we're a good fit. We do not hold signing events unless you are Karl Ove Knausgaard.  :-)

We are currently at capacity for hosting regular book club meetings.

STOCKING YOUR BOOK / PUBLICATION

We love stocking independent publications but with very limited exceptions prefer to go through our existing distributors. If you do not have distribution and still prefer to supply direct we ask that you familiarise yourself with the books and magazines we typically stock before pitching. Same goes before sending proofs and reading copies.
